Staten Island [Blu-ray] for $7.59

Cheap Staten Island [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Having grown up in Staten Island it was nice to see something with that title in a movie. Funny that the character who took D'Onofrio's place on Criminal Intent was ragging on Staten Island in one of the first few episodes this season (Spring/Summer '10).

The movie has a pretty cool introduction, you see some quick sites of Staten Island, then you see all the names on the Island that have the word 'kill' in it. For those who live in PA and know the Skullykill river, well, that is the same thing. Names like Kill van Kull, Great Kills, Arthur Kill...all names Staten Islanders are familiar with. I laughed out loud on that beginning.

The movies is a little slow in the beginning, and you are beginning in the middle of the movie. A scene that you return to a few times in the movie. There is a bit of a flash forward and back, so, if you need to walk away for a second, pause the movie or you will be lost.

Ethan Hawke (Sully) plays a septic tank truck worker working in the better parts of the Island where people have septic tanks. Julianne Nicholson plays his wife who is pregnant and cannot stand how he smells when he get home. Seymour Cassel plays a hearing impaired deli owner, Jasper, whose deli is frequented by Vincent D'Onofrio playing a mob boss Parmie Tarzo with work that only this guy seems to do for him (dissecting dead bodies). Staten Island being one of a couple of places for body dumps in addition to the Meadowlands in NJ, makes this an interesting theme.

Jasper and Sully are friendly to one another and Sully share with him how his wife is doing. You see a tear of joy in his eye now and then when Sully is giving him the news. Jasper is tired of his responsibility to Tarzo and Tarzo finds out that his gang is tired of him too. Sully's co-worker decides to make some extra money by taking advantage of an old woman who lives alone. It is Tarzo's mom. So, you see Sully in the Deli when Tarzo walks in, he is tense and you come to learn why.

There are some cool scenes with D'Onofrio in the woods. There is a green area in the hills on the Island, but this was filmed in NJ. This is a pretty cool scene and really takes on a life of its own.

This is a great story and aptly played by all. You have seen Nicholson on Criminal Intent, and Rosemary De Angelis (mom Tarzo) is familiar to you if you have watch CI or Law and Order.

Anyone who likes "Brooklyn's Finest" would like this. Brooklyn's Finest

Cassel, Hawke and D'Onofrio work well together in this movie. A great crime drama that could be used for ideas for many more.

Magnolia [Blu-ray] for $12.90

Cheap Magnolia [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

I remember driving 2 hours away to see this movie in theaters, because it wasn't playing in my city (and I live in the 3rd largest city in my state). I also remembering thinking how much it was worth it. This movie is incredible. Granted, it's NOT for everyone. It is 3 hours long, and very slow-paced. Some people will get bored with it. But for those with a mind for film, for great, grandiose pictures, this is the pinnacle. I liked Boogie Nights, but P.T. Anderson hit it out the park with Magnolia. The ensemble cast is superb (especially John C. Reilly, William H. Macy, and Philip Seymour Hoffman), the interweaving storylines are impeccably done, the integrated soundtrack by Aimee Mann gives it a haunting ambiance, and the overall feel of the movie is just golden. It will be a long time (if ever) before I find a movie strong enough to kick this one out of my #1 spot in my Top 10 list.

Thumbs up! I really liked this movie; definitely both an interesting and realistic look at just how ridiculously complex the inner workings of relationships can get twisted into. Stellar cast; quite a few big names involved here but they seem to work well together as opposed to grandstanding each other. Definitely worth your while to see this movie.

Cheap Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Herzog is a fascinating director, one to investigate...that's why I selected this film. The movie was captivating, full of outrageous and repulsive situations intended for a mature audience, an audience willing to accept the heroic villiany of Cage's character. Cage seems to be a surprisingly polarizing actor - he's solid in this one, but still very much Nicholas Cage. If you don't have beef with him, and want to see a corrupt cop story, here's a fierce depravity steaming with inspiration and irony.

Pan's Labyrinth [Blu-ray] for $15.95

Cheap Pan's Labyrinth [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Fairy tales are violent. Labyrinths are always dangerous places. Many fairy tales have been toned down for kids, but in their original forms, Violent. Getting to the movie, the violence has to be there. Basically, I think it rips the viewer back and forth between the "I'm really a princess!" fantasy world the little girl dreams of and the harsh world the little girl lives in just as the little girl is throw back and forth between that fantasy world and the world in which the country is at war, her father beloved father is dead, her mother is sick, her baby brother is in jeopardy, she's being told to call some other man father, her stepfather is a murderous jerk, and her new best friend (as she has had to leave all of her old friends in the city to move to the country) is a spy who could be discovered and killed at any moment. While viewers feel sympathy for the little girl's situation given all of that, the violence on screen creates a situation for the viewer. More empathy. The viewer (at least those with weaker stomachs) wants to get away from it as much as the little girl and hopes she, at least, succeeds, becomes the princess, finds her "real" father (alive and well), her mother (alive and well), etc etc. Why the ending? As multiple characters in the film say, there is no magic. Fairy tales aren't real. Not for you, me, or anybody else. No other ending would work. For what appears to be it's purpose, the movie had to be dark and could have been darker without fault. In passing, would like to comment on the fact that Captain seems to believe in his own version of a fairy tale, the great man's death. In fact most characters seem to have some "fairy tale" in mind. Final note: those complaining because they thought this was a kid's movie, check the rating on the DVD, the movie posters, the internet, the theater marquee,.... That's not, and never was, a G. Don't blame anyone buy yourself for your choice not to take the time to read one letter prominently placed on the advertising materials before tossing your kids in front of the television and going off to do the laundry or whatever. There's no excuse for being surprised by the fact that this movie isn't for kids.

Journey to the Center of the Earth [Blu-ray] for $6.99

Cheap Journey to the Center of the Earth [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Journey to the Center of the Earth was a movie I really liked as a kid. When I saw the trailer with Brendan Fraser doing the remake, then I said, "I've gotta see it!" The problem was convincing my husband and son that it would be worth watching. Finally, I found Amazon had it marked down to a reasonable price on Blu-Ray and I ran my pleas with my family one more time to snatch it while we can. My husband agreed this time, because he's so wonderfully sweet. His response was, "Sure, get it if you want." I bolted from the room and ordered.

Brendan has become one of my favorite actors ever since I saw him in The Mummy. I had no clue he was a naturally talented actor who does comedy mingled with action/adventure so well. Journey made me think a lot of his role in The Mummy and that's what really hooked me. In Journey Brendan (Trevor Andersen) is a scientist. One weekend, his late brother's wife brings his nephew for a visit and drops off some stuff for him that once belonged to his brother. Inside the possessions, he finds Jules Verne's book, Journey to the Center of the Earth, with clues written in the margin by his brother (also a scientist) which sends Trevor and his nephew off for an adventure of a life time.

If you're a Fraser fan, then I'm certain you'll enjoy this and too boot it's fairly family oriented.

Elf [Blu-ray] for $13.70

Cheap Elf [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

I don't do Christmas. I've mentioned that before, but then again some people may not have taken me too seriously (I find the concept to be self-centered and manufactured). That said, some may balk at me gushing over a Christmas movie, but I like what I like and this movie deserves my attention. Talk about a movie that defies expectations. Looking at the trailer for this film or glancing at the DVD cover and you'd think it's going to be `stupid funny' so when the film winds up displaying genuine sincerity with every laugh you find yourself scratching your hear in disbelief.

This film has serious heart.

The film tells the story of Buddy, a human who was adopted by Christmas elves when he was a baby and raised to believe that he too was an elf. He made for a rather clumsy elf, being that he is kind of gigantic, and so he was eventually told the truth about his origin and sent off to the real world to find his human parents. He does find his father, but that doesn't go over very well (especially since Buddy is so genuine in his overall naivety that he comes across like a complete nut-job).

Sure, there is that whole `Christmas spirit' mumbo-jumbo that is so beautiful in context yet so inaccurate in application, but it works marvelously in this family centric film that nails nearly every mark it attempts to hit.

This film just has `it'.

In fact, this film has heaps of `it' in the form of Will Ferrell, James Caan, Bob Newhart, Mary Steenburgen and Zooey Deschanel. I mean, really...what a marvelous cast. Ferrell is just effortless and so wonderfully delightful as Buddy. He captures the tone of this character with ease and delivers a performance we will remember and adore. James Caan handles a stereotype with gusto, and Bob Newhart is just so huggable as Papa Elf. I've always had a soft spot for Steenburgen, even when she hasn't deserved it, and Zooey Deschanel should be in EVERY movie.

If you want a smart, witty, charming family film that will defy odds and really deliver than this is the one for you, whether you engage in the traditions that come from this over-hyped holiday or not.

Freddy vs. Jason [Blu-ray] for $6.56

Cheap Freddy vs. Jason [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Freddy. The Nightmare. He loves his children.

Jason. Crystal Lake Killer. He loves to make people suffer.

---------------

Freddy Crueger vs. Jason Vorhees, who would of ever thought? If you've seen Jason
Goes to Hell: Final Friday, you'd know that sooner or later, this was coming. After a long wait and anticipated build-up, this executed very nicely.

The overall plot was very easy to follow. After Freddy drug Jason down to hell with him, he attempts to use Jason as a way out. The movie brings us back to the roots of "good ol" Elm Street, Freedy's old stomping grounds; Jason although, refuses to step aside after he kills a few of the teens. Then there is the story behind the story; Lori Campbell (Monica Keena) and her friend Kia (Kelly Rowland) team up with Lori's "long lost" boyfriend, Will (Jason Ritter) to find away to stop these two madmen. Will just so happened to escape with his friend out of somekind of Insane Asylum to warn Lori of Freedy.

Then you have Lori's father, who murdered his wife (Lori's Mom) while being under the control of freddy. This is only to the knowledge of Will. The graphics and detail are great. At one point in the movie, Freddy turns into a bug-shaped figure and gets inside a boy's body, to try to put Jason down.

The story is very unique. It gives us a glimpse back to when Jason was a child, and Freddy discovers his only fear, water. Later, Jason discovers Freddy dosen't have exactly a "happy past" with fire. The ending battle is very epic between these two forces of evil and Lori and Will make it more dramatic. This isn't like the original series that each of these two villians had, but I have few complaints. This is a 2 Disc DVD set, with the second disc being loaded with alternate/deleted scenes. This is well worth the money.

"Welcome to my nightmare b-tch"

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring [Blu-ray] for $10.29

Cheap The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Ok, let me get this out of the way first, I have just gotten into these movies, as when they came out, I was not into watching movies of the era because of lack of quality and good actors, for me anyways, so I missed the boat on these, I was always contemplating on seeing them because of all the rave, but it wasn't until recently that I saw the light.

Earlier this year, I was at Walmart with a bit of money, and was looking for a few movies to buy, I couldn't find nothing else, so I decided to give these a try, since they had all 3 films there, and wow, I am so glad I did as these 3 movies are just 3 of the best ever to be put on film, everything from the acting, to the effects, to the music and most of all, the directing are simply divine.

Believe me it is a nice surprise to see 3 modern films that are really great, I just finished watching 'The Return of the King' and of course after watching 'The Fellowship of the Ring' and 'The Two Towers' it left me in awe at the end, I couldn't believe the journey I had just taken part of, these for SURE lived up to all the hype they received AND THEN SOME.

By the way, I have never read the books, but now since I've seen these masterpieces, I am going to get the books, and I'm not much of a reader, but something like this, I will for sure read.

So there it is, I loved these films so much I had to put my 2 cents in, and there you have it, if you're into any kind of magic (like me being into the trading card game Magic: The Gathering) YOU MUST, watch these movies, even if you're not into fantasy like this, I urge you to watch them, because after you watch these, I'm sure your view on this type of fantasy will change.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl [Blu-ray] for $7.96

Cheap Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

I won't discuss the plot, story, etc. Read other reviews for that. No spoilers here, also. I just want to briefly mention a few things.

The first Pirates Of The Caribbean movie I saw was the second one, Dead Man's Chest (2006). I saw it at a drive-in in July 2006. What a nice summer night that was. The movie, however, I thought was mediocre. I figured the first movie would have to be better, and it definitely was.

Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl (2003) is everything a pirate movie should be. It has action, adventure, fighting, treasure hunting, great daytime and nighttime atmosphere, everything you can think of when it comes to pirates sailing the Caribbean Sea. This movie was based on the Disney ride of the same name. Johnny Depp delivers a great performance, as does the nice looking Keira Knightley.

The special effects are truly awesome. Sure, some CGI was used, but it wasn't overdone, in my opinion. This movie really captures the feel and atmosphere and look of the Caribbean and pirate ships. It was actually filmed in the Caribbean, not in California or some similar place.

The second DVD features over 10 hours (that's right) of extras. Everything from how the movie was made to deleted and alternate scenes, audio commentary, blooper reels, a history of pirates, an image gallery, and so much more. It'll keep you entertained for, well, over 10 hours.

If you like pirates, then you should see this movie. Entertaining and visually stunning, I highly recommended this movie.

Movie Review - American Film Institute rates Wilder's "Some Like It Hot" Best Comedy Ever

Some Like It Hot - 2 stars (average)

In his day "Some Like It Hot" was a hot ticket nominated for six Oscars and won one. Published in 1959, this film in black and white also served as a platform greatest comedy for his three main characters-Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe), Joe as "Josephine" (Tony Curtis) and Jerry as "Daphne" (Jack Lemon) . Lemon was the actor, Marilyn Monroe was the sex symbol, and Curtis was the catcher.

The plot was two players down-on-their-luck (and JoeJerry) witness the St. Valentine's Day Massacre by the mafia-style gangster in 1929 during the prohibition era Chicago. Joe and Jerry get away with death, then dress up as women in the name of "Josephine" and "Daphne" and hooks with an all-female band for a gig in sunny Florida.

Complications set in when they discover that Sugar Kane is part of the force. Playboy Curtis falls for Monroe, but must come to terms with its role as Josephine and Daphne lemon has to deal with the lovingAttention of Osgood Fielding III (Joe E. Brown), an elderly millionaire. Things really heat up when they appear boss Spats Colombo (George Raft) and his gang in the same place for a "meeting" the boss of the Mafia.

Billy Wilder directed this film and although a bit 'of fun had its patience tested. Apparently, Marilyn Monroe gave a new meaning to the phrase "dumb blonde". He took 47th in a scene takes to get this: "It's me, Sugar" to correct, and after 30 takes Wilder was the phrase written on aTable for them.

After 40 shots of her and said: "Where's the bourbon?" When Monroe was browsing through some drawers, Wilder pasted the correct line in one of the drawers. Monroe has been included still confused, so Wilder line in each drawer. It took 59 takes to Monroe to get it right. Tony Curtis has stated publicly that Monroe regularly 2-3 hours late to the series and, occasionally, he refused to leave his dressing room.

Despite everything, Some Like It Hot won an Oscar for best costumeDesign by Orry-Kelly, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor (Jack Lemon), Best Art Direction (Ted Haworth, Edward G. Boyle), Best Cinematography (Charles Lang), Best Director (Billy Wilder) and Best Screenplay (Billy Wilder and IAL Diamond) and even ask to IAL (pseudonym of Romanian origin Itec Domnica as a student at Columbia University has been).

As Orry-Kelly was the measure of all three stars for the clothes, said half-jokingly, that Marilyn Monroe Tony Curtis has anice ass of yourself. "Monroe responded by opening her blouse and said," Yes, but does not have tits like these! "This was Hollywood in 1959.

Some Like It Hot has won three Golden Globe Best Picture Drama, Best Actor (Jack Lemon) and Best Actress (Marilyn Monroe). It 's a good thing that voters not on the set for filming.

The American Film Institute voted Some like it hot, like the funniest movie of all time. The film is number 14 on AFI's listof the 100 greatest films of all time.

have at the end of the movie, Daphne informed Osgood-husband "their" future millionaire, who are unable to bear children. "We can accept," said Osgood. "But you do not understand, I'm a man!" Daphne says, "I'm a man!" Osgood says, "Well, nobody's perfect!" The line "Well, nobody's perfect," was the 48 th Vote the most famous quote in movie history by AFI.

And the truth is stranger than fiction category, a man has found a Californialittle black dress in her closet (what was it?) and was amazed when experts have discovered that it was worn by Marilyn Monroe in Some Like It Hot, and had an estimated value of $ 250,000.

Meanwhile back in Kansas, 1959 (the place made famous by Dorothy and Toto in "The Wizard of Oz"), the film has been banned from display in Kansas, because the cross-dressing was "too disturbing to Kansas."

I suspect that may have been Some Like It Hot as one of the first film to topto count the audience cross-dressing in the script. My, how times have changed. In liberal circles today, we are exposed to much more often.

I personally would vote Some Like It Hot as the best comedy of all time. In my book of great films, it is the honor of "Waking Ned Devine", provided an excellent entertainment and also delivered a message on the very significant relations not only between individuals but also an entire village.

I've been following Hunter Weeks since his debut with "10 mph", and absolutely *love* his work. This movie is no exception. You don't have to be a huge cycling enthusiast to enjoy this documentary. It is an amazing story of the power of the human spirit. The characters and their emotions are real, not portrayed by actors. I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of this film this summer, and had so much fun reacting to it with the audience, just like a good movie can do for you. I already bought the DVD direct from them, and was happy to pay the premium over Amazon's discount to own this wonderful piece of movie-making and follow along with them in their crazy and amazing adventure in a gorgeous, surreal and somewhat desolate environment. What makes Hunter's movies so distinct are the great, "ordinary" American people that they run into on these adventures. This beats any Hollywood movie out there with its character development, drama, independent music soundtrack and cinematography. This is truly a movie that you will want to watch again and again, *not* just sit there on the shelf with all of the other movies you don't watch. ;)

Chak De India Movie Review

Finally, King Khan is back with a bang! After Swades and Paheli, this time with another non-conventional, where he played as coach of the Indian women's hockey team. Its role as a coach is considered one of the most challenging ever played by SRK.

treated in a country where hockey game as bad as it may be, is the director Shimit Amin has indeed dared to choose this as the main theme of his film. He demonstrated his genius in every frame and it also shows how he meticulouslyhas done his research on this game. Thanks to his patience, as an aspect of this movie is so nice to see everyone in

At first I was a bit 'hesitant to see this film enthusiasts, is laden with ice hockey as things are basically in cricket. But this film is a revelation to me, that game shows all the technical details of the game that made me really think twice before commenting on it. Director gave the same attention to every actor, without thatDiscrimination, which show his ability.

The film is based on a real base character named Kabir Khan (played by SRK), which is an Indian hockey team captain, who lost against Pakistan and he was a scapegoat for their losses, inturn made. Kabir Khan wanted to deny all allegations against him and for that he is a difficult task as coach in Indian women's hockey team, which is almost the visible horizon. Its sole purpose is to make these poor Indian team win the World Ice HockeyCup, which is next impossible. You must see to believe .. its really a thrilling experience.

All the actors (in fact, the hockey players), a really great show box changes the code putup are quite catchy esp ka Sattar minutes. We need to encourage this kind of movie or you get to see the film as rubbish JBJ, partners, etc. ... We need to appreciate the producers (Yash Raj) and because they dared to put the money for this type of project.
There is still much to learnesp from this movie for our IHF, in the vicinity of precipitation.

A must for all Indians .. Chak De India!

A History of Violence [Blu-ray] for $9.06

Cheap A History of Violence [Blu-ray] Discount Review Shop

Viggo Mortensen plays Tom Stall, proprieter of a diner in a small town in the mid-west. Tom has a beautiful wife, played by Maria Bella, and a son and daughter.

One day a couple of bad - and I mean really, really bad - men come into Tom's diner. The menacing scene is resolved when Tom is provoked and dispatches the bullying baddies as easily as Bruce Lee kicking a collective roomful of bad backsides. Everyone is surprised - how could Tom have dispatched those ruthless toughs so easily?

Soon Ed Harris, sporting a wicked scar, shows up at Tom's diner, claiming that Tom is not an innocent small-town guy at all. No, Harris claims that "Tom" gave that scar in his previous life working for the mob.

Hitchcock loved the tale of the innocent man suddenly thrown into a cyclone of turmoil and intrigue. Cronenberg reverses roles with the story of a man who is not innocent, but leaves a life with the mob to try a life behind white picket fences. I don't know about the real mob, but in films they never take kindly to such independence.

This is probably THE definitive serial killer film. I use to think The Silence of the Lambs [Blu-ray] was the best, but after watching my new Blu Ray copy I have to say that this is the better drama.

I remember when this played in theaters it so un-nerved me that I went back the next day to see it again. On second viewing it occurred to that the 'city,' which is a major part of the movie is un-named; it is a horrid place and I thought that Fincher did not want to associate it with any 'real' city; in the special features in this new disc that is exactly what happened.

I've been very impressed with Fincher ever since Alien 3 (Collector's Edition) (Note: NOT the 114 minute theatrical release but the 155 minute version Fincher delivered to the studio that then ruined it. The 'good' version is, I think, on this collector's edition, in the so-called 'Quadrilogy' and in the new Blu Ray, properly named, 'Alien Anthology'). Anyway, sorry for the rant, Fincher has gone on to make some of the classic films of the past few years.

The special features on this release are alright, nothing really special, but worth the extra money. Kevin Spacey's performance is down right chilling. An excellent buy.

Now for a gripe at Amazon. Why do they combine all reviews of a movie no matter which version you are thinking of buying? Some of the negative reviews here relate to a poorly done transfer for the European market. Others relate to other editions. It isn't just this movie, it's all reviews on a movie, book, product, no matter which version are lumped. I recently bought a Kindle book that had very negative reviews due to a bad tech transfer; the author/publisher had fixed all the problems and then gone through all the negative reviews one at a time to explain that they had been fixed. Why not just have Amazon delete those or clearly show they relate to another version?

My glowing review here is for the new Blu Ray version that was specifically supervised by David Fincher.

The Ghost Writer (Roman Polanski, 2010) - Review new film

The Ghost Writer (Roman Polanski, 2010) - What is the dialogue with all the controversy in "Thriller" recently? When did you decide so great directors like Scorsese and Polanski should their films by Kevin Smith Yak-solid model? Usually when you write "Reveal" into a screenplay, is a camera direction, not a general principle of dialogue. Lately I have seen much of this trend. Iceland stopped the first shot, then the trend has been to be in Flame and CitronDenmark (see my review) and now is infected with Roman Polanski as a writer widely acclaimed new thriller The Ghost. In all these films are important elements of the plot, which is not revealed during their dramatic and effective build-up, battery characters mouths' with such high specificity that comes to mind (and experienced) people are the same theaters scratches head and saying, "What?" The wealth of information provided to us with a spoon makes us wonder whetherWe secretly slipped something you do not expect, and if the "big reveal" it takes an hour to explain, it feels like it is not developed at all, and we wonder if we lost. Oh, we did not. No one was awake. It 's a cliche to write a good thriller that keeps you guessing. "These movies keep you answer" - it means they do anti-thriller? Maybe this time I want to clean my palette and satisfy my desire for nostalgia, with the projection of the lessee.

The Ghost Writerrefers to the unnamed protagonist of Ewan MacGregor, hired for the Adam Lang's memoirs published, has done a stand-in for Tony Blair, who punched in Cape Cod to escape so that the protesters against the war fever at home . The spirit is replaced by another writer, who recently landed on a beach with your lungs full of sea water. Just as Lang and begin his new work colleague, came from fees for the International Criminal Court throws long to help the CIA in carrying out torture onHatherton secret flights to perform a stand-in for Halliburton. The long-Team is a full defense and discussed their policy options, which leads to the conclusion that remain in the United States to prevent the International Criminal Court.

As the living, stories of women, Pretty Boy-Lang, Pierce Brosnan has never looked good, and never has been cast better. The casting decisions along the line are brilliant, especially Jim Belushi as insolent and American editorial director Kim Cattrall longer and composedintimidating assistant / lover. There are no Oscar category Best casting, but the casting director Fiona Weir deserves some kind of prize.

Polanski has demonstrated his impressive skills as a director through the monitoring of the frame with a precision that no detail goes without notice. However, the details are very trivial. The film suffers from a lack of motivation and lack of exercise. The mind itself does not care enough about the operations, all he wants is to get his salary, and factswith a bottle of scotch at the end of the day. Decide you do not want to investigate, so Polanski makes his investigation again on a completely frivolous desire to test as well as a Mercedes-Benz-dash navigation system. Then later, ridiculous, discovered the ghost of a vital information from a Google search. Following tells what he "discovered" Robert Rycart, a major political opponent Langs, and he seems genuinely surprised by the news. Apparently not Rycarttechnical expert.

The problem is not how information is provided to us, but exactly what that information. Once you connect the dots (or rather, they connect the dots for us in slow motion), we are not connected with something solid for our hat on the left. Before revealing the (long, slow), we knew it was shady deals between the British Government and the U.S. government and the previous ghostwriter was probably killed to cover deeper corruption discovered in hisSearch. After the (long, slow) show, we know that shady deals between the British and American governments and that the previous ghostwriter was probably killed to cover deeper corruption, only now we know who they are two of the "bad". The stakes of the lot are quite low.

The Ghost Writer is perhaps mocking the kind of mystery stories from a high point of post-modern view. Since he has no power to expend energy-building, Polanski has ample opportunity to dryironic jokes with a wink and a nod to the public. If there was tension, these measures would cause them to disperse. But it really does not exist, so they really are welcome distractions. MacGregor is a charmer, and carries the film well enough to involve the public when appropriate. This is also the irony, mixed with the literalness of the law makes the film a great "wink and a nod" to the ironic thriller genre? This film is more big game hunting and not the simple effectThriller turn? Maybe (I'll leave you to decide). Polanski is with problems of exile and the effort that you receive in personal charm, which, like those of you who have not lived in a hole in the last 30 years can attest, the ideas can be weighed on the mind of the director. It could also act as an indictment of Bush and Blair regime and foreign policy, as it was read. Ultimately, however, the political messaging is pretty low. Lang has the right to make aundisputed "Come On Get real" defense of the conduct of the war on terror, and therefore the issue is forgotten as we focus on the interesting question of resolving the fate of our young ghostwriter.

There are negative aspects of religion, and not the skin (other than a look back prima donnas, during start-up sweater over AB), or gender.

Unfortunately, it is a ton of violence and bad language. The violence was not good for a young audience, but what do you expect for this type of film. However, language is a real spoiler for me. I mean more than 20 "S" words alone!

Conclusion: Overall, if you can go beyond language ... I really struggle with ... Especially when you let my boy the movie. I happened to be in Rome when "Gangs of New York" was being filmed. The set was unbelievable!

I just wish the editing didn't cut some scenes important to the story, which make it difficult to understand the
relationship between the characters.

Daniel Day-Lewis was incredible as Bill the butcher. Di Caprio and Cameron Diaz were perfectly cast and very convincing.
Martin Scorsese directed this movie and, as always, was just superb. The detail in each scene is worth seeing the movie!

Over all, this was a really fun movie to watch. The action was amazing and well animated, I mean well animated. It's nice to see DC really putting good effort into deeper, darker more adult story lines and action as well as spending a few extra bucks on much better animation. My only issue with this movie was some of the voice actors. William Baldwin as batman? Seriously....William Baldwin? The voice just didn't fit and it showed in every line batman had. Mark Harmon as superman was good but it wasn't quite there for me but it still `worked' unlike the voice of batman. Other than that the movie was spot on and it is a welcome treat to see DC taking batman to darker areas than before, how he handles the owl and the evil flash is.....unexpected perfection. The fight sequences were well done as well with the chaos well spread out and not focusing on just one or two heroes and it all flowed well imo. Great movie with lots of good action. Good for a watch in my opinion.

Jesus of Nazareth (Movie Review)

Since Thomas Edison's invention of modern cinema, countless filmmakers strove for a moving picture that accurately tells the life of the product and the time of Jesus of Nazareth. In addition to Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, the only part of the life and crucifixion of Jesus, Jesus of Nazareth Franco Zeffirelli Chronicle is the largest of all. Originally as a television mini-series (it's for more than six hours) broadcast, the film closely to the word-for wordAccounts found in the Gospels.

The story begins with the reception Joseph (Yorgo Voyagis) and Maria (Olivia Hussey), the angels of God Each is the child that Mary and that is what his name is called. The scene where Mary receives her message is a particularly strong piece of cinematic art without dialogue - just a warm light surrounding Mary bows down in prayer. The film is any expression in the Gospels, says the census of Herod's decree, and the journeyJoseph and Mary.

As Jesus (Robert Powell) develops into adulthood, we experience the beginning of his ministry. He calls his disciples taught through the use of parables, and displays many miracles. Zeffirelli makes powerful use of the camera from its star, Powell, never be caught blinking in every scene. At first, it is hardly noticeable, and it takes time to understand what is so different. But the absence of the uniformly common trait of blinking creates an aura around the divineCharacter of Jesus Throw in the audience, creating an emotional sense of peace that Jesus gives credibility to the representation of the screen.

From beginning to end, Jesus of Nazareth offers a plethora of memorable scenes and exchanges that are more on the Gospels and the real life of Jesus as a brilliant director and ability to function. But the theme is right by a great production team and an endless array of top actors and actresses, including treatiesthey are - Mary Magdalene (Anne Bancroft), the Centurion (Ernest Borgnine), Simon Peter (James Farentino), Balthazar (James Earl Jones), Joseph of Arimathea (James Mason), Nicodemus (Laurence Olivier), Caiaphas (Anthony Quinn) and more ... Overall, the individual efforts together to create a rich tapestry of wisdom and intrigue that will leave audiences with plenty to ponder and think about form.

If you believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah (which this writer does),Jesus of Nazareth then serves as a form of meditation and renewal of their spiritual connection to God but if you do not see Jesus in this way no other film you will blow your mind on the great influence of the tax enacted by a man of humble sandal clan from one province to the border with powerful Rome - an influence that has completely dominated the world for almost 2000 years now.

For the spiritual, philosophical, and cinematic reasons, Jesus of Nazareth, a significantto see the movie for ages ...

I became an Adam Sandler fan late in the game and always was a fan of Drew Barrymore. This movie does a wonderful job of bringing out the best of both actors. It is your typical boy meets girl story with a few twists and turns along the way. A very enjoyable movie well worth having in your collection. The soundtrack also has a lot of great hits from the 80's so for those that remember the 80's with fond memories will also get a kick out of the movie.

If you like this, check out the two in "50 First Dates" another great romantic comedy!
