Freddy. The Nightmare. He loves his children.

Jason. Crystal Lake Killer. He loves to make people suffer.

---------------

Freddy Crueger vs. Jason Vorhees, who would of ever thought? If you've seen Jason
Goes to Hell: Final Friday, you'd know that sooner or later, this was coming. After a long wait and anticipated build-up, this executed very nicely.

The overall plot was very easy to follow. After Freddy drug Jason down to hell with him, he attempts to use Jason as a way out. The movie brings us back to the roots of "good ol" Elm Street, Freedy's old stomping grounds; Jason although, refuses to step aside after he kills a few of the teens. Then there is the story behind the story; Lori Campbell (Monica Keena) and her friend Kia (Kelly Rowland) team up with Lori's "long lost" boyfriend, Will (Jason Ritter) to find away to stop these two madmen. Will just so happened to escape with his friend out of somekind of Insane Asylum to warn Lori of Freedy.

Then you have Lori's father, who murdered his wife (Lori's Mom) while being under the control of freddy. This is only to the knowledge of Will. The graphics and detail are great. At one point in the movie, Freddy turns into a bug-shaped figure and gets inside a boy's body, to try to put Jason down.

The story is very unique. It gives us a glimpse back to when Jason was a child, and Freddy discovers his only fear, water. Later, Jason discovers Freddy dosen't have exactly a "happy past" with fire. The ending battle is very epic between these two forces of evil and Lori and Will make it more dramatic. This isn't like the original series that each of these two villians had, but I have few complaints. This is a 2 Disc DVD set, with the second disc being loaded with alternate/deleted scenes. This is well worth the money.

"Welcome to my nightmare b-tch"

(Overall: **** 1/2)

"Freddy vs. Jason [Blu-ray]" Overview

The slicer versus the slasher? Two titans of terror going at it mano-a-machete? They’re gonna kill each other a lot! The horror (and wicked fun) begins when Freddy realizes he can’t haunt dreams because folks no longer fear him. So he enlists Jason to do a little killing on his behalf on Elm Street. Presto, the fear is back – and so is Freddy. One problem: Jason isn’t about to stop offing people. And another: Freddy isn’t about to let Jason rule Elm Street. This means war. Freddy Vs. Jason. Winner kills all.

"Freddy vs. Jason [Blu-ray]" Specifications

After 11 years in development hell and screenplay drafts by 13 different writers, the long-awaited smackdown of Freddy vs. Jason finally arrives. After making their respective debuts in Friday the 13th (1980) and A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, replacing long-time Jason performer Kane Hodder) and razor-gloved Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) square off in a slasher-franchise combo-deal that only their most devoted fans will appreciate; turns out this is a lightweight match in which nobody wins. It's an average entry in the histories of these horror icons, comparable to half of their previous sequels, and Bride of Chucky director Ronny Yu satisfies purists with plenty of gushing blood and mayhem when Freddy recruits Jason to slice 'n' dice the ill-fated teens who've forgotten Freddy's once-formidable reign of terror. While it logically connects the gruesome legacies of Nightmare's Elm Street and Friday's Camp Crystal Lake, this horror hybrid is shockingly uninspired. It briefly peaks when Freddy gives the unconscious Jason a dream-world pummeling, but their ultimate showdown's a draw. In the immortal words of Peggy Lee, is that all there is? --Jeff Shannon

Just a Fun Movie to add to your Collection - Joseph Kassabian -
I don't know what I can really add to all the reviews already written, but I plan on buying the Nightmare on Elm Street collection, because I love The Nightmare on Elm street Series, but I'm going to get the old collection, not the new one as the new one from everything I've read, is not nearly as good. So I bought this movie seperate and going to buy the original series.

Anyway, Many people hate this movie, and I mean, if your a die hard fan of Nightmare series, and the character of Freddie, and stories and what not, I guess I see why, but personally I really like this movie. It pits Frikin Freddie vs. Jason. And it really is, if not a great movie, just a really fun movie. Englund may not be scary in this movie, but his character personality and portrayal, is completely fun freddie, cocky stuck up Freddie, and I don't know, it's just really fun.
